Out on important assignments
. . . .
We thank Marilyn for hosting and for her ingenuity of fitting 12 writers, complete with purses, briefcases, drinks and snacks around the table.
Everyone was eager to hear about how the Orange County Writers Conference went. Highlights include Debby’s novel placing in the top ten, and Muriel placing third in the “best short story” category (Beverly Bush Smith Award). With over 200 writers in attendance, these are wonderful accomplishments.
To read more about the conference, including experiences of others in our group, visit our blog, “San Gabriel Valley’s Inklings” at: http://sgvinklings.blogspot.com
BUT WAIT....You ARE here!
There should be an invitation in your email, from Debby the Gatekeeper, to access our blog (but again, you are here already). If you have any problems linking to it, contact Debby. We are thankful to Debby who has put together a great place for us to connect and share our writing journeys.
Here are a few snippets of our lives. Carrie is applying for work at the City of Hope and has endured six interviews. Susan S. is preaching again, and Marianne lost her journal which we prayed for. Sandee had the opportunity to pray for an atheist on the way to critique group. This was not an easy task, but Sandee was faithful to the Holy Spirit’s leading. Marilyn read a letter from Brenda, who is diligently at her studies, and busy with her family. Jane prepared a new roster for us. And Debby thinks we should wear our bathing suits to an upcoming meeting at Mary Rice Hopkin’s house…date to be set.
We all enjoyed meeting a new writing friend, Mary Angeles, and we hope she is able to join us again!
Our next meeting will be on June 4th at:
First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena
3700 E. Sierra Madre Blvd.
Pasadena
(626) 351-9631
The meeting will be in Reed Hall, room 246. More details will follow.
Have a wonderful month, and don’t forget to visit our blog!

Book Release
From Inkling Sandra Schoger Foster comes a new book. Daddy, Will You Play Catch with Me? is a life cycle book about a father and son who create loving and lasting memories with a glove, a ball, and sometimes a bat. And when the father is old, the son still loves to play catch with him.
